COAST GUARD ANNOUNCES AND SEEKS PARTICIPANTS FOR A PORTS AND WATERWAYS SAFETY ASSESSMENT ON THE DELAWARE RIVER
Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay will host a Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment (PAWSA) on November 29th and 30th, 2018. The PAWSA will specifically focus on the Delaware River between the mouth of the river and the Walt Whitman Bridge. The Coast Guard is soliciting for participants in the two day workshop.
PAWSAs are highly structured two-day workshops that provide a formal process for identifying risks and evaluating potential mitigation measures through expert inputs. They require the participation of professional waterway users with local expertise in navigation, waterway conditions, and port safety. Stakeholders and members of the public are included in the process to ensure that important environmental, public safety, and economic consequences are given appropriate attention as risk interventions are selected.
Professional waterways users, stakeholders, and members of the public wishing to participate in the workshop are invited to provide their name, contact information, connection to the waterway, experience, and related skills to SecDelBayWWM@uscg.mil by November 16, 2018. Due to limited space, our office will send formal invitations to selected participants.
