MSIB 40-18 PIPELINE REMOVAL MANTUA CREEK ANCHORAGE
The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay, is notifying mariners of a safety zone established surrounding vessels and machinery associated with the removal of a submerged pipeline in Mantua Creek Anchorage. **Please see page 2 for chartlet**
• The safety zone will begin when dive and pipeline removal operations begin on October 26, 2018 from 5:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. daily until completion of the pipeline removal.
• Diving and pipeline removal operations will be in vicinity of below coordinates:
39°51.930822’N, 74°13.094867’W
• The temporary safety zone includes all navigable waters within a 250-yard radius of Commerce Construction vessels and machinery including crane barge KELLY and tug HIGHROLLER in support of pipeline removal operations.
• Entry into the safety zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Delaware Bay, crane barge KELLY, or tug HIGHROLLER. Vessels requesting transit shall contact at least 1 hour prior and at 30 minutes prior to arrival.
o Contact crane barge KELLY and tug HIGHROLLER at VHF-FM channel 80.
o Contact COTP on VHF-FM channel 16.
• All vessels must operate at the minimum safe speed necessary to maintain steerage and reduce wake.
