Delaware River Pipeline Crossing
The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay, is notifying mariners of dredging operations that will obstruct the main navigation channel of the Delaware River near the mouth of the Christina River on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from approximately 12:00pm through 2:00pm. Cottrell Contracting Corporation will be floating then submerging dredge pipeline across the main channel, Delaware River, in the Cherry Island Range between the Christina River Entrance Lighted Buoy 2 (LLNR 3015) and Delaware River Lighted Buoy 30 (LLNR 3020).
Due to the nature of these operations, a safety zone will be in effect for all navigable waters within 100 yards of vessels, machinery, and equipment involved in the pipe laying operation. Mariners are advised that pipeline will be floating across the channel and extending outside both the green and red buoy lines during the evolution.
Vessels wishing to transit Cherry Island Range between 12:00pm and 2:00pm must contact Sector Delaware Bay’s 24 hour command center at 215-271-4807 or VHF 16.
