DIVING OPERATION IN MARCUS HOOK ANCHORAGE

The Captain of the Port (COTP), Delaware Bay, is notifying mariners that Commerce Construction will be conducting surveying and diving operations in Marcus Hook Anchorage No. 7 on the Delaware River, beginning on March 15, 2018 through March 22, 2018 from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

A safety zone will be in place in all navigable waters within 250 yards of the diving vessels, as well as any associated equipment operating in Marcus Hook Anchorage. The work will be conducted in the southern most portion of the anchorage on the eastern side, adjacent to the New Jersey Shoreline. The safety zone restricts vessels from anchoring in the lower portion of Marcus Hook Anchorage.

Vessels must operate at the minimum safe speed necessary to maintain steerage and reduce wake when transiting in the anchorage and main navigational channel.

The remainder of Marcus Hook Anchorage is open to vessel traffic as per general anchorage regulations set forth in 33 CFR 110.157 (b).

• All floating and submerged pipeline has been removed from the anchorage.
• No vessel shall occupy the anchorage for a longer period than 48 hours without a permit from the COTP.
• Vessels requesting to anchor longer than 48 hours must obtain approval by calling the Sector Delaware Bay Command Center at (215) 271-4807 and submitting an Extended Anchorage Request.

Questions regarding the contents of this bulletin or expectations of the Captain of the Port can be directed to (215) 271-4807 or (267) 515-7294.
