DELAIR RAILROAD BRIDGE CLOSURE (REVISION 2)
The Delair Railroad Bridge over the Delaware River will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position from 5 a.m. on April 30, 2016 to 12 p.m. on May 11, 2016; and from 5 a.m. June 4, 2016 to 5 a.m. June 11, 2016. The previously advertised completion time of May 08, 2016 at 5 P.M. (MSIB 12-16) is no longer accurate. Vessels able to safely pass through the bridge in the closed position may do so at anytime. The lift span will not be able to open since one counterweight will be detached until the end of the repair work. During the closure period the bridge will not be able to open for emergencies and there is no immediate alternate route for vessels unable to pass through the bridge in the closed position. Vessels able to safely pass through the bridge in the closed position may do so at any time. The bridge has a vertical clearance in the closed position of 49 feet above mean high water. Mariners should use extreme caution when transiting the area.
The Delair Railroad Bridge will operate in accordance with the operating regulations set out in Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations Part 117.716 after these deviations from the regulations conclude.
