END OF 2013-2014 HURRICANE SEASON


The Captain of the Port (COTP) Sector Delaware Bay is notifying mariners that hurricane season 2013-14 will officially conclude on November 30th, 2014. Please be aware that although Hurricane season has ended, there is a possibly for nor`easters, late season storms, and other heavy weather, such as the recent storm in Buffalo, NY. Be on the watch for these storms and be prepared to take action in the event these types of storms reach the area. All vessels, facilities, and marinas are asked to take adequate precautions and review their individual Heavy Weather Plans. For more information log onto the USCG’s Homeport website at: http://homeport.uscg.mil to view Heavy Weather Marine Safety Information Bulletins (MSIB), regarding storms possibly impacting the port.
