Safety Zone, Delaware River, New Castle, DE

The Captain of the Port Sector Delaware Bay has established a safety zone on all navigable waters on a portion of the Delaware River, between Delaware River Lighted Buoy 27 (Light List Number 2965) and Delaware River Lighted Buoy 25 (Light List Number 2950) to ensure the safety of ongoing emergency response to a vessel fire. Vessels may transit the safety zone but are required to transit at the slowest safe speed to maintain navigation and minimize wake. Vessels may contact the on-scene Coast Guard vessel via VHF radio channel 16 or by contacting the Sector Delaware Bay Command Center via phone at 215-271-4807.
