Dredging Operations Marcus Hook Anchorage and Range

All mariners be advised the tentative start date for dredging operations for Marcus Hook Anchorage and Marcus Hook Range is November 7, 2024. Dredging operations will begin in the lower end of Marcus Hook Anchorage. After dredging operations begin vessels desiring to anchor within Marcus Hook Anchorage must obtain permission from the COTP at least 24 hours in advance. The COTP will permit one vessel at a time on a “first come, first served” basis in the upper portion of the anchorage, with preference given to those vessels greater than 650’ in overall length. Vessels will not be permitted to occupy Marcus Hook Anchorage beyond 12 hours during this time.

Sector Delaware Bay will release a Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB) to confirm the date that dredging operations will begin. Additionally, the MSIB will detail the restrictions put in place during dredging operations and detail how vessels can request a reservation in Marcus Hook Anchorage.
