MSIB 02-17 OBJECT IN MARCUS HOOK RANGE

The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay, is notifying mariners of an object, approximately 6 feet in diameter and 7 feet high, that has been reported in the Delaware River navigational channel, in Marcus Hook Range, at 39˚48.204’N, 075˚ 25.272’W. Mariners are advised to use extreme caution when transiting this portion of the Marcus Hook Range as some depths at mean low low water could be hazardous to navigation. Minimum depth at this objects location is 36.3 feet at mean low low water.

Vessels drafting over 35 feet should avoid this area and transit around the object.

Survey and salvage vessels will be in the vicinity of the object at 12pm on February 15, 2017 and thereafter while salvage operations are being conducted. Vessels are requested to contact working vessels in this location on VHF Channel 16 and make safe passing arrangements no later than 1 hour prior to arrival at this location.
