SEASONAL ICE PROCEDURES
RETURN TO SEASONAL ALERT

The Captain of the Port (COTP), Delaware Bay is notifying mariners that the port has returned to SEASONAL ALERT status in the Delaware Bay and River, Cape May Harbor and Canal, and the New Jersey ICW.

• Conditions are not favorable for the formation of new ice.
• There are no navigational restrictions.
• Water temperatures remain at or below freezing in the Delaware River and C&D Canal.
• The United States Army Corps of Engineers maintains steel hull restrictions for the C&D Canal.
• Drifting, melting ice is present in navigable waters, so mariners are urged to proceed with caution.
