Ben Franklin Bridge project info/docs (per Skanska):
Commencing in August 2020, a rehabilitation project will be conducted on the Ben Franklin Bridge which will last until approximately August 2024. During the project, scaffolding will be in place under the bridge for the duration of the project, based on the following plan:
The federal navigation project channel , as well as almost 600` to the east of the channel (1000` total from the Pennsylvania bank of the river) will have its regular air gap restricted by 24". The remainder of the bridge will have its regular air gap restricted by 36".

The main area designated for passage of higher air draft vessels runs from the centerline of the federal project channel east for 400`. This main designated passage area is able to be raised to an air gap reduction of 10.5" with 48 hour advance notice to Skanska personnel per the attached communications protocol. Once all project scaffolding is in place, the main designated passage area will be lit per standard lighting of all federal channels under bridges, with a red light on the east and west edge of the moveable section and a green light on centerline.

Please refer to all attached project docs including schematics, lighting plan, communication protocols, etc. for complete project details .
